Welcome

Here you will find news about my various publications & activities and examples of my writing.  My work rises out of my intense interest in the natural world, art, mythology and history.

I write poetry & prose, long & short, for children & adults. I enjoy collaborating with other creatives and writing in response to particular objects, places & themes. Basically, I love variety in my creative life.

As an experienced teacher and workshop leader, I'm also able to deliver creative activities to all ages and help everyone feel that they have tapped into their potential as a writer.

I hope you enjoy finding out more!

Winner of the Wenlock Poetry 'Festival in a Book' Prize!

I was delighted to hear that my poem 'The Armageddon Afterparty' was chosen as the winner of the WPF Festival in a Book prize by Martin Figura and Helen Ivory, the judges. Later in the summer it will be part of the physical Festival in a Book when that is published.

Greencoats receives astonishing accolade

Greencoats is my first children's book. But as many authors will know, it's hard selling children's books without a massive marketing team. So it was amazing to see this endorsement from a talented writer David Southall creator of Hookland. If you want a children's book that will remind you of Joan Aikens masterworks and live with you after the reading, try Greencoats. It has profound enchantment throughout.
If you haven't yet entered this imaginary haunted county, you can find it here: Hookland    Signed copies of Greencoats are available to buy from my website shop for £8.99 +P&P.
